OKLAHOMA CITY (March 4, 2017) – What is better than getting to see hundreds of the latest automobiles at the Oklahoma City International Auto Show? How about test driving some of them?

Those attending the OKC Auto Show will have an opportunity to get behind the wheel of some of the latest models. The 100th anniversary of the Oklahoma City International Auto Show is being held March 10-12 at Oklahoma State Fair Park in the new Bennett Event Center.

“Nothing beats the feeling of physically being in control of a vehicle, and the test driving opportunities taking place at the Oklahoma City International Auto Show will allow those who attend to do just that,” Chairman John Holt said. “We know how much people love to be behind the wheel and we are excited to be able to provide the chance for them to test drive a variety of cars.”

Twenty-four cars and trucks from seven brands will be available for test drives. The “Drive FCA!” area will include the Chrysler Pacifica, Chrysler 300, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger, Dodge Durango, RAM 1500, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Renegade, Fiat 500, Fiat 500X and Fiat 124 Spider. The “Toyota Drive Center” offers up the Toyota Camry, Highlander, RAV4 and Tundra.  The “Chevrolet Test Drive” offers the Cruze, Malibu, Traverse, Equinox, Camaro, Colorado, Silverado and Volt.  Drive FCA and the Toyota Drive Center will be open Friday – Sunday.  The Chevrolet Test Drive will be open Saturday and Sunday.

The Oklahoma City Auto Show is one of the largest consumer shows in Oklahoma and will feature a variety of entertaining activities for adults and kids of all ages. In addition to the opportunity to test drive 24 cars and trucks from FCA, Toyota and Chevrolet, the 100th anniversary event will include a re-creation of the event from a century ago with 44 one hundred-year-old and vintage cars; the Auto Show 5K race; the Hall of Fame NASCAR exhibit; exotic cars; an 18-hole mini golf course; a “Coffee and Cars” event; a charitable Gala benefiting 10 Strong who helps improve the lives of children with cancer; and lots and lots of 2017 new cars and trucks from 27 automobile brands.

“We know people really enjoy the opportunity to see some of the latest and greatest models available from the various brands displayed here at the OKC Auto Show,” Peter Hodges, president of the Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association, said. “But we also know that is takes that thrill to a whole new level when they get a chance to be behind the wheel. With 24 cars being made available for test driving, we anticipate lots of smiles on the faces of those who get to try out what could be their next vehicle.”

The Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association was formed on May 4, 1916 as the Oklahoma City Motor Car Dealers’ Association, and the first OKC Auto Show was held January 23-26, 1917.

This year’s Oklahoma City Auto Show will be one of the first major consumer shows to take place in the new, state of-the-art Bennett Event Center at State Fair Park. Attendees will have the experience of enjoying the show under one roof with immediate access to all of the exhibits and events.
