OKLAHOMA CITY (March 5, 2017) – Among the possible Falcon, Firehawk and Thunderbird sightings that could take place at the 100th anniversary of the Oklahoma City International Auto Show are expected to be a few birdies and eagles on the mini golf course.

One of the more popular features among those with a competitive spirit in attendance at the OKC Auto Show, the mini golf course will be available all three days of the show. The 100th anniversary of the Oklahoma City International Auto Show is being held March 10-12 at Oklahoma State Fair Park in the new Bennett Event Center.

“The mini golf course may seem like a lot of fun for the kids – and it is – but the adults seem to have just as much fun too,” Chairman John Holt said. “We expect to see lots of great shots on the course while everyone enjoys all of the features of the 100th anniversary of the Oklahoma City International Auto Show.”

The mini golf course is $5 per person with the proceeds going toward 10 Strong, a local charity that helps bring joy to the families whose children are in the cancer ward of the 10th floor of OU Children’s Hospital.

The Oklahoma City Auto Show is one of the largest consumer shows in Oklahoma and will feature a variety of entertaining activities for adults and kids of all ages. In addition to the 18-Hole Mini-Golf Course Experience, the 100th anniversary event will include a re-creation of the event from a century ago with 44 one hundred-year-old and vintage cars; the Auto Show 5K race; the opportunity to test drive 24 cars and trucks from FCA, Toyota and Chevrolet; the Hall of Fame NASCAR exhibit; exotic cars; a “Coffee and Cars” event; a charitable Gala benefiting 10 Strong who helps improve the lives of children with cancer; and lots and lots of 2017 new cars and trucks from 27 automobile brands.

“We always enjoy seeing fun the the OKC Auto Show visitors have when they play the mini golf course,” Peter Hodges, president of the Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association, said. “With the proceeds going to 10 Strong, we feel like this is a fun way for people to help bring about some happiness for some very deserving kids.”

The Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association was formed on May 4, 1916 as the Oklahoma City Motor Car Dealers’ Association, and the first OKC Auto Show was held January 23-26, 1917.

This year’s Oklahoma City Auto Show will be one of the first major consumer shows to take place in the new, state of-the-art Bennett Event Center at State Fair Park. Attendees will have the experience of enjoying the show under one roof with immediate access to all of the exhibits and events.
