OKLAHOMA CITY (August 28, 2017) – The auto show display at this year’s Oklahoma State Fair will be held for the first time in the new Bennett Event Center.

This year’s auto show will include six automakers, an 18-hole Mini-Golf course, an old dealership, and historic ads. The Oklahoma State Fair runs from Sept. 14th through the 24th. The auto show opens at 10 a.m.

Visitors to the auto show will also get to enjoy the excitement of today’s latest models from Ford, Honda, Chevy, Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai displayed in the expansive Bennett Event Center.

“We feel this is going to be an exciting event for everyone who stops by,” Laine Diffee, chairman of the Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association, said. “Whether it is seeing all the new models, playing some mini-golf or checking out the new Bennett Event Center, we anticipate this being a year to remember.”

This year’s auto show will also include a mini golf course, with participants having an opportunity to enter a contest to win an iPhone 8. The value of the iPhone 8 is estimated to be higher than $1000.

“We enjoy seeing the crowds coming out to see the latest models on display,” MADA president Peter Hodges said. “This year, we decided to include some of the more popular features of our annual auto show in Oklahoma City, which we expect will make this a destination spot for those who attend this year’s Oklahoma State Fair.”

Tickets for the 2017 Oklahoma State Fair are available now at the State Fair Park Box Office, online or by calling 405.948.6800. A convenience charge may apply.

“The State Fair is proud to be showcasing the new Bennett Event Center when the Auto Show moves back inside,” said Tim O’Toole, president & CEO of Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. “The public will really enjoy our newest event space with its state-of-the-art amenities.  It is truly one of the finest large-scale exhibition centers anywhere in the country.”

The Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association was formed on May 4, 1916 as the Oklahoma City Motor Car Dealers’ Association. The earliest display of automobiles was first featured at the Oklahoma State Fair in 1909, and by 1916 the auto show had become a major event at the Oklahoma State Fair. The Metropolitan Auto Dealers Association is a non-profit organization that exists to serve and promote the franchised new motor vehicle dealers of metro Oklahoma City and is the producer of the annual OKC Auto Show and Tulsa Auto Show held in the spring.
